School Counselor

Jennifer Medlin:
Mrs. Medlin works primarily with students in the upper grades (grades 3-5).  Mrs. Medlin provides brief individual counseling as well as small group counseling on topics such as anger management, academic success, and self-esteem. She is also providing classroom social-emotional/skills for learning lessons in the 5th grade and certain 3rd grade classes.

Laura Barrow:
Mrs. Barrow provides brief individual counseling in all grades as well as small group counseling and classroom lessons on a variety of socio-emotional topics for students in grades kindergarten through 2nd grade.

School Counseling Program Vision:

All students will acquire the competencies necessary to become confident, purposeful, capable, and successful members of society.

School Counseling Program Mission:

To provide a comprehensive and data-driven school counseling program that addresses the academic, career, personal, and social-emotional development of all students so that they can become productive members of society. In partnership with staff, families, and the community, the school counselors will help students acquire the knowledge, skills, attitudes needed in order to achieve their greatest potential.

HOW DO I SEE THE SCHOOL COUNSELOR?

Students:  Students can ask their teachers to submit a counselor request in person or online.

Parents:  Parents who wish to meet with either school counselor are strongly encouraged to schedule an appointment. For students in grades 3-5, please contact Mrs. Medlin at [email protected]  For students in grades kindergarten-2, please contact Mrs. Barrow at [email protected]  Parents can also reach the school counselors at (239) 694-2097.
